Build A Dynamite Email List

One of the best ways to connect and build a relationship with your audience is no doubt an email list. Email lists have proven time and time again that no matter what happens in the digital world that they’re here to stay! Essentially, by encouraging your readers to sign up to your email list is definitely a powerful asset in the long-run.

Having an email list has a ton of benefits including:

  1. Allowing you to engage with your audience in a personalized and creative way.
  2. It’s one of the most scalable ways that you can make sales and encourage your audience to download your content
  3. Even if all forms of search engines and social media were to disappear tomorrow you can still leverage your email list to maintain your business!
  4. Being able to upsell customers who are fan favorites who have purchased multiple products from you.
  5. The lifespan of an email lasts for days whereas when you place a post on Facebook it disappears in minutes.

Make Sure Your Website is Mobile Friendly

It’s no secret that mobile has been taking over! In fact, a study by Telemedia showed that approximately 58% of all search engine activity on Google originates from mobile searches, compared to around 40% on desktop.

So it would make sense that you ensure your website is mobile friendly wouldn’t it? Yes. Yes, it would!

This just doesn’t mean that your website has to look great on mobile but this also means that your website has to load quickly on mobile. There are many ways to ensure that your website has a great loading time on both desktop and mobile, these ways include Google Page Speed Insights, GT Metrix, and my favorite, MonsterInsights Site Speed Report.

Other great ways to make sure your website is mobile-friendly are:

  • Uninstall any unnecessary plugins that you may have
  • Compress any images that you may have on your website
  • Make sure that your theme has been optimized for WordPress

Create Content based on previous Data

Knowing your numbers is one of the best ways that you can scale your website growth to the moon!

There are a few different ways that you can track the data on your website but I must say that I’m a huge fan of Google Analytics and if you have read any of my previous articles then you would know that I highly recommend that you take advantage of MonsterInsights when it comes to installing Google Analytics on your WordPress website.

By having Google Analytics installed you will be able to know exactly where your website visitors are navigating on your website and then make the necessary optimizations. For example, if you are running an eCommerce brand then you may want to take note of how many people are visiting your product page and not purchasing so you can start building higher converting landing pages.

That being said, when you pair MonsterInsights with Google Analytics magic starts to happen which helps you make the best data-driven decisions possible.

With MonsterInsights it doesn’t stop there, they also provide a Year in Review report which shows you the overall performance of your website in the previous year. This is an excellent way to build a plan for the future of your website in the upcoming months. Sadly, this report was only available until the 14th of January but I’m excited to see what else MonsterInsights thinks of this year.

What else can you do with MonsterInsights?

Build A Game Plan for your blogs

Having a plan in place for your blogs is key if you want to see success all year round. This plan includes building a bank of content topic ideas that you would like to roll out for the majority of the year. Yes, plans change and as you begin writing you may realize that some topics don’t fit the overall theme that you’re going for but it’s always a great idea to have a plan, to begin with.

Having a blogging game plan can no doubt increase your search rankings which will no doubt increase the overall return on investment generated from your website.

Do Competitive Research

Feel as if you hit a wall when building your blogs and content for your website? Well, it’s no secret that one of the best ways that you can get new inspiration for your website is by spying on your competitors.

Yes. This is legal. ONCE YOU DON’T TAKE ANY OF THEIR CONTENT. Whew, I had to put that in caps just to stress my point, you must be consistent and 100% original. I always encourage checking out your competitor’s content and building content that’s 10 times better!

That being said, taking a look at your successful competitors gives you further insight into what you may be missing in your blogs or website and what you can

There are various different tools that you can use in order to spy on your competitors, like SemRush and Ahrefs. Another good tool I recommend for beginners is UberSuggest. However, doing a simple Google search can always work in your favor as well.

Final Words

All in all, these are just 5 basic website resolutions that if followed correctly could have a major impact on the overall positive growth of your website. This is just the tip of the iceberg and I would highly recommend that you stay up to date with the many changes in the SEO world.

Most importantly, I highly suggest that you set realistic goals this year and use the previous year as a benchmark. If this is your first year blogging then I would definitely recommend modeling your competitors and build a plan based on providing better content than your competitors.
